Questions and Answers
Why don’t you offer piercing heads anymore?
Piercing objects such as body panels is a relatively violent procedure which we feel contradicts the basis for stabilization. I’ve heard many attribute the infamous airbag deployment incident to vibration or vehicle movement due to lack of stabilization. The goal with our methods is to perform as little work on the vehicle as possible prior to stabilization without sacrificing time. In addition, piercing places a dependence on the shear strength of body panels and the integrity of spot welds, etc. This may be adequate in many situations, however, if a full roof removal is desired on a roof resting car, for example, I want something a little more secure like the Res-Q-JackÔ restrained chain saddle method which restricts you to Res-Q-JackÔ equipment as this is a proprietary method protected by a pending patent. This does not eliminate piercing as a viable option in some cases, its just not my first one. Again this is something we’ve made in the past, and we can make at any time if you wish.
What is the status on your pending patent? What will be protected under the patent?
We are pleased to announce that the USPTO has issued Res-Q-Jack, Inc. Patent #6,772,984 on August 10, 2004. The patent includes specific methods for roof resting stabilization. Unauthorized application of techniques, teaching of techniques, illustration of techniques, or sale of equipment for techniques will be restricted to fire departments, manufacturers, dealers, distributors, instructors, or any others having permission or license to do so from Res-Q-Jack, Inc. We trust you will understand that we need to protect what we have invested tremendously in. Res-Q-JackÔ customers will have license to employ our techniques with our products.
