Res-Q-Jack Extension Tubing Material Specifications:

Res-Q-Jack perforated extension tubing is galvanized in accordance with ASTM A-653 des. G-90. Corner weld is zinc coated after scarfing operation. Tubing is top-coated with a clear organic polymer.

Tubing is roll formed from 12 gauge (.105 U.S.S. gauge or 2.66 mm) hot rolled steel complying with ASTM A-653 Grade 50. Average minimum yield strength after cold forming is 60,000 psi (413,685 kN/m2). Tubing corners are welded by high-frequency resistance welding and externally scarfed to agree with corner radii.

Res-Q-Jack Tablock Pin Load data:

Our 3/8"(9.5mm) diameter tablock pins and jack clevis pins are made from 4037 steel heat treated to grade 8 spec, Rc (Rockwell-C hardness) of 33-39. This results in a tensile strength of approximately 150,000 psi (. The yield strength, Sy, is approx. 130,000 psi. The shear yield strength is approximated by: Ssy = 0.58 x Sy = 75,400 psi. Using a factor of safety of 1.5 (allowable shear stress= 50,266 psi) and a formula for double shear stress = column load divided by twice the area gives a working load of 11,100 lbs.(49.4kN) in double shear loading. A factor of safety of 2 (allowable shear stress = 37,700 psi) gives a double shear capacity of 8,325 lbs.(37kN) in double shear. You need only use a single pin at each connection and achieve the full suggested working load of the stand. At the recommended stand working load the factor of safety for these pins is greater than 4 to 1 ! NOTE: Alternate tablock pin is a powder coat safety orange color with a yield strength of 120,000 psi.

Res-Q-Jack Model RJ3 Jack Unit Capacities:

    Travel:    12 inches (38 cm)

   Failure Load:    14,000 lbs. (62kN)

Static Working Load:    7,000 lbs.(31kN) (Factor of safety = 2.0)
   (holding capacity)
Dynamic Working Load:    4,000 lbs.(17.8kN) (Factor of safety = 3.5)
   (lifting capacity)

Do not exceed 4,000 lbs (17.8kN) column load in any application.

Strapping Capacities: See individual product descriptions for various strap data. If loads may exceed strap capacity, use stakes or sufficient supplemental restraints as well.
