Taylor Spring Rescue Jack TrainingThe Taylor Springs Fire Department hosted a hands-on Rescue Jack training class taught by Duane Bales from the Illinois Fire Service Institute.

Tom Rogers, Scott Lynch and Dan Rogers of Witt Fire Department and Larry Jackson of Nokomis Fire Department participated.

Taylor Springs firemen were Chief Ron Gazda, Doug Fenton, Brian McCarty, Linda Klotz, Dave Wrachford, Beau Elam, Tom Flint, Rick Laurent and Dustin Jones.

Rescue Jacks are used to stabilize vehicles in order to extricate occupants trapped in a traffic collision. The TS jacks were purchased with funds raised at the September 2009 annual $10,000 dinner-dance.

Lunch for the training class was provided by Jason Milanos. Dick Elam allowed the fire department to use his property for training, and Tony Simmons provided the damaged vehicles.
