On August 24, 2004 the Berlin Rescue Squad met for a training program on extrication and vehicle stabilization techniques. The program was conducted by Brett Collins of the Firematic Supply Company who has a great deal of experience and skill in using this type of specialized equipment. This training is a part of the continuing education program for Rescue Squad members.
The training took place at the Berlin Auto Parts facility on Coburn Road. The Squad is most appreciative of Vaughn Thompson's assistance in our extrication training program.

| He provided a wrecked vehicle on its side to make the training as realistic and as useful as possible .The members of the Rescue Squad were trained on the Res-Q-Jack
stabilization equipment and its use in vehicle extrication operations.
An opportunity was provided for the Squad members to use all of the
equipment, including cutters to remove vehicle roofs. Additional
photos of the training session are available in the Photo Album on the
Bulletin Board. |
 |
| This training program is very valuable in maintaining the Squad's
proficiency in dealing with serious vehicle accidents, situations often
found in responding to calls for emergencies on Route 495 or within the
Town. |
