woodbridge_nj On March 28, at approximately 5:20 p.m., EMS and fire personnel from Woodbridge and Perth Amboy were dispatched for a report of a serious motor vehicle accident at the corner of Florida Grove and West Pond roads.
A box truck had broadsided an SUV (sport utility vehicle) sending it crashing into a traffic signal pole, causing it to fall onto the SUV.

Firefighters from Perth Amboy and Woodbridge worked to extricate the driver from the vehicle, while EMS personnel from the same towns attended to the victim. A paraamedic unit from Raritan Bay Medical Center was also on hand to assist.

The victim was removed from the vehicle and transported to a nearby landing zone, from where the patient was flown to a trauma center in the area.
