September 3rd, 2006 Watkins Glen Fire Department
Watkins Glen – NY’s Racing Headquarters
On September 3rd 2006, the Watkins Glen Fire Department was dispatched to a 6x6 roll over with two persons trapped underneath it. Upon arriving on the scene 2nd Assistant Chief Judson Smith ordered that RES-Q-JACKS be used to stabilize and lift this vehicle to free the trapped victims. The vehicle was on a cliff and the RES-Q-Jacks worked wonderfully. They were deployed in under two minutes and the patients freed in less than 5 minutes. The Lifting struts worked to perfection to lift the entire 6x6 off the people safely. Each patient were able to walk away with minor injuries.
