W. MILFORD, N.J. - On Saturday, January 6, around 4 p.m., W. Milford Fire Co. 2 was dispatched for a report of an MVA (rollover) at the intersection of Route 23 and Doremus Road.
The vehicle was traveling south on Route 23 in the slow lane as it approached the Doremus Road traffic light. The vehicle swerved across the fast lane then onto the grass median, striking a cement vault that houses the controls for the traffic light. This caused the vehicle to rollover several times before coming to rest on its roof. The female driver was first reported to be unconscious and still in the vehicle.
Firefighters arrived and stabilized the vehicle, then they used the Jaws of Life to free the victim.
EMTs from the W. Milford First Aid Squad and paramedics from Chilton Hospital (901) treated the patient. Once the patient was stabilized she was then transported to the Paradise Knolls School ball field where NorthStar was waiting to transport the patient to the trauma unit at Morristown Hospital. |
