MVA overturned in Phillipsburg-Res-Q-Jack Used For Extraction |

| The Phillipsburg Emergency Squad
was dispatched to a MVA roll over, pole and wires down with entrapment.
The squad’s rescue team was currently out doing training for the same
exact situation when the call came in. The rescue team quickly put away
all tools and left the training area for the actual call. Also started
today was the newly formed Southern Warren County Rescue Task Force
which was also dispatched which also brought out Lopatcong Emergency
Squad, Greenwich Emergency Squad, Bloomsbury Rescue Squad, and Franklin
Rescue Squad. Upon arrival of Capt Dale Rodenbaugh who assumed
EMS/Rescue command, advised incoming task force members to stage near
Shappel Park to await instructions. The pole was severed near the base
with the pole being held up by the electric wires. The vehicle had
ended up on its side. After seeing that the pole was safely staying up
Phillipsburg Emergency Squad’s rescue team went to work with the
assistance of Franklin’s rescue team to stabilize the vehicle. Then the
teams went to work and cut the roof and flapped it over to remove the
victim. The victim was driven by Lopatcong Emergency Squad to the LZ
and air lifted by Penn Star to St Luke’s Hospital in PA. Assisting on
scene also was the Phillipsburg Fire Department. All other units were
cleared while the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad stayed to assist
JCP&L secure the pole and the tow company to remove the car. |
