At 1940hrs Rescue 1 was special called by Forest Road Command for a motor vehicle accident with two overturned vehicles and three occupants trapped. Company 5 and Squad 6 were the first alarm assignment to the 7000blk of Forest Road. Command (Burnette) arrived to find the two vehicles off the roadway, both overturned, both with occupants trapped. Just as Pumper 5 and Rescue 5 arrived, command had Bedford Communications special call Rescue 1 to assist with the extrications. Rescue 1 (with six) arrived and was assigned extrication duties on a four-door sedan with two occupants trapped. Pumper 5 had already stabilized the vehicle with Rescue Jacks and had personnel inside of the vehicle attending to the patients. While Rescue 1’s chauffer raised the light tower for lighting, the rest of Rescue 1’s personnel stretched their tools to the car and removed the front and rear door along with the B post to access the patients. After packaging both onto a LSB, the patients were transported by Medic 6 to LGH. Rescue 1 returned to service at 2036hrs.
