Rescue workers assist the driver of a sport utility vehicle Wednesday morning after it collided with a tractor-trailer on state Route 17, between the town of Elmira and Horseheads. Traffic was shut down in both passing lanes for 20 to 30 minutes while the wreck was cleared. Chemung County sheriff's deputies and the Horseheads Town and Country Fire Department assisted.
